with the Executive Team

This is a gross tournament. One player plays the colored  ball from the tee to holing out. Each player in a foursome plays the colored ball 4 times.  On each hole circle the score of the  player who played the colored ball.  If only a threesome, each player plays the ball 5 times with one playing it six times. If the ball is lost, OB or in the water that team is out of the competition.  They can continue to play as if a regular game.  Record the colored ball score on each hole.  The total of these scores constitutes the team score for the total of the tournament. Please return the colored ball with the score card.

Aug 8th – Please check out the revised instructions on how to record your score cards

We have noticed an increase of errors occurring when the scorecards are being entered. Please reviewed procedures on the website if you are having any problems. Please enter the scores by hole.

Savage Creek has requested we increase our pace of play. If you are falling behind (examples – Green is empty when you come to tee off. Group in front of you is a hole ahead)  remember that it is important that you catch up.  Some methods of catching up are:

– send two players to the next tee after they have finished putting

– if no one is in your way, play your fairway shots out of order

– If there is a lost ball, hit your shot then go help find the lost ball.

– if your ball is OB, don’t go back to the tee to rehit. Drop where you figure it went out. 2 stroke penalty.

– walk with purpose- get to your ball as quickly as you can… this allows you to go though your pre-shot routine without holding anyone up

– have your putt lined up and be ready before it is your turn to putt. Consider putting continuously.

-be mindful where you leave your cart around the green so you can reach the next tee faster.

-record your score on the next tee

This is a call out for volunteers. With the successful growth of the club this year and some of the executive leaving their position after this season, our club needs more volunteers to make the club run smoothly and allow everyone to enjoy a great day of golfing. We are looking for a few good members to assist the executive in a backup capacity as well as to fill in a couple of positions on the executive. If you are interested, please talk to a executive member.
